Join us for a truly unforgettable trek across the Baja Peninsula. This unique trip through the majestic Sierra de la Laguna is a terrific adventure for avid walkers and campers. Total altitude gain is roughly 6,500 feet, much of which is gained in a 6-7 hour hike the first day. With burros carrying all your belongings and guides on hand to do all the cooking and show the way, you can simply relax and enjoy the walk through the magnificent scenery.
The variation is incredible. We start in the desert near Todos Santos, work our way up through the spiny forests, then on into lush preserves of oak and pine. When we reach the pinnacle
we have a sweeping panoramic view of the peninsula, with the Sea of Cortez on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. We have several opportunities to play in rivers and waterfalls. Warm showers are available in the base camp after hiking each day.
The guides prepare all meals, which include a delightful variety of Mexican dishes. Red wine is available with dinner each evening.
The Sea-to-Sea trek in which we hike up the Pacific side of the Sierras and down the Sea of Cortez side provides a much more challenging descent than the Todos Santos Loop trek. It is a 7 to 8 hour hike through beautiful canyons and riverbeds, and there are several places in which you must gain back some of the altitude you've been trying to lose. The descent for the Todos Santos loop trek takes roughly 4 hours and is only downhill.
The 4-day/3 night Sierra de la Laguna Adventures require a minimum of 4 people for a departure.
