Duration: 7 days Airport: San Jose del Cabo, Mexico (SJD) Brief Itinerary:
Sunday:	Arrive in San Jose del Cabo and transfer to the pueblo magico of Todos Santos. After moving into our lovely hotel rooms overlooking the sea, we´ll have a welcome dinner and briefing at the famed Hotel California.
Monday:	In the morning you´ll get an introduction to your home town for the week, charming Todos Santos. We´ll tour the beautiful historic district and learn about the colorful Chinese, American and Mexican residents who have shaped the town over the years, and visit the galleries of local artists who live in and draw their inspiration from Todos Santos. In the afternoon we´ll have our first volunteer session at The Palapa Society.
Tuesday:	Todos Santos is the gateway to the Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere Reserve and this morning we’ll enjoy a lovely, flat walk there. The Biosphere reserve boasts a wonderfully diverse range of flora and fauna, much of which is endemic to Baja. We´ll have another great round of volunteering with the Bridge-to-English program in the afternoon, then enjoy Champagne & Stars, a beautiful evening of stargazing with a local astronomer, followed by dinner at a terrific local restaurant. Aztec, Mayan and Greek mythologies explored while exploring the skies.
Wednesday:	Today we have the fantastic opportunity to experience the traditional way of life of the mountain ranchers in Baja. We’ll meet local potters in a true mountain oasis, and learn how Baja Californians have carved their homes and livings out the mountains for centuries. Doña Ramona will give us a pottery class while sharing her ranching way of life. Her family will prepare an incredibly delicious ranch lunch for us, and will give us a tortilla-making lesson just before dining. Driving is 90 minutes roundtrip. We return in the afternoon in time for another great session with the Bridge-to-English kids at the Palapa Society.
Thursday:	This morning we´ll take a fantastic walk along the Pacific bluffs and enjoy terrific scenery featuring sea lions, birds, whales and cactus. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch on a pristine, palm-ringed beach, then have plenty of time to shower and change before heading off to our last afternoon of volunteering at The Palapa Society.
Friday:	The Bridge-to-English program is not offered on Fridays so we´ll take advantage of our free time to head to La Paz for the truly incredible experience of swimming with the sea lion puppies at the permanent sea lion colony of Los Islotes – one of life´s great experiences!
Saturday:	Today you can volunteer with the Children´s Art Mural project or take some time to enjoy some of the other activities in Todos Santos like horseback riding, surfing, massage, laying around the pool and reading novels…
Sunday:	Return with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

The Bridge-to-English program is an after-school program for local kids run by The Palapa Society, a Mexican non-profit that has been making life better for the children of Todos Santos since 2003. Bridge-to-English, which pairs native speakers of English with local language students, is extremely popular among the local community, particularly as no child wanting to learn English is ever turned away. For the 2011-2012 school year 70 students ranging in age from 5 to 17 are registered for the program, and 12 of those receive Palapa Society scholarships. An additional 43 Todos Santos students receive scholarships from The Palapa Society to pay for their high school education, and 17 receive Palapa Society scholarships for universities in La Paz. Volunteers with The Palapa Society´s Bridge-to-English program are asked to make a donation to cover at least one monthly Bridge-to-English scholarship: US$10 (ten US dollars). Materials such as crayons, art supplies and teaching aides are all greatly appreciated. All scholarship recipients are required to participate in the Palapa Society´s community programs so you´ll be directly involved with those you support. 64 Box Crayola Crayon Kids Choice Colors and 24 Pack Crayola Color Pencils are particularly appreciated. Our accommodations during the VolunTourism Adventure Week will be lovely Los Colibris Casitas. Each casa and casita at Los Colibris has magnificent views of the Pacific ocean, a freshwater estuary and a palm grove oasis to the front, and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains to the side and back. Los Colibris is just a 10-minute walk to 70 miles of pristine, virtually empty beach, and a 5-minute drive to the delightful restaurants, artists´ galleries and shops of Todos Santos.

Mr. Bing´s Place Mr. Bing´s is a charming, cozy casita that features a colorful bedroom with palapa roof, ceiling fan, iPod player/charger/alarm clock, hair dryer, beach towels, and a spacious dining/living area with kitchenette. It has a large patio with absolutely stunning views of ocean, lagoon and palm oasis.
